Apply: Finance Manager - Project Governance & Reporting

Due to a marked increase in project activity across the group, my client a large ASX listed financial services group, is looking to hire an experienced Finance Business Partner with specific project accounting and/or project governance experience.
 
Partnering with key stakeholders in both finance as well as Project Managers and Program Directors, you will ensure the programs/projects are operating in accordance with the Group's approved governance and execution frameworks as well as ensure assigned project portfolio's are accurately reported, forecast and planned to achieve desired portfolio outcomes.

Key responsibilities of the role will focus on:
  • Ensuring that programs/projects are effectively governed and controlled to deliver on time, within scope an budget and generate benefits in line with approved business case;
  • Ensure the programs/projects are operating in accordance with the Group's approved governance and execution frameworks;
  • Working with Program Directors and Project Managers to deliver timely and accurate reporting on a monthly basis, ensuring that actuals and forecast are reported correctly;
  • Prepare project financial status reports and project steering committee pack with insightful commentary to senior management;
  • Provide robust financial profile and forecasts that support forecasting and planning processes, which include accountability to validate business assumptions, cost variances and driver inputs;
  • Review of all project business case and financials and to challenge project managers when required;
  • Ensure projects generate benefits in line with approved business cases;
  • Extensive stakeholder management at a senior level (GM, CFO, Program Directors, CIO etc.)
 
Key requirements for this role will include:
  • CA/CPA/CIMA qualified;
  • Experience gained in either the Financial Services or Commercial sector with experience supporting large complex project portfolios;
  • Proven experience in management reporting, financial analysis and financial modelling coupled with outstanding business partnering experience;
  • A minimum of 5+ years accounting experience with at least 2+ years working in a Project Finance role. Specific project governance experience highly regarded;
  • Experience in leading people both through influencing behaviours and direct management;
