THE ROLE
The Presales Engineer is a subject matter expert who supports the sales team throughout the sales process. The objective of the role is to identify the client's challenges, articulate the scope of the technology to the client and create solutions that address the challenges.
In this role, the Presales engineer will work across multiple different customers in various industry segments.
At a high level, your responsibilities will be as follows:

• Partner with the sales team and provide technical knowledge to customers as part of the sales process.
• Be a subject matter expert for customers.
• Lead Proofs of Concept (POCs) during the sales process.
• Provide product demonstrations that address customer problems and challenges.
• Share knowledge with other teams to improve products and processes.

Although the company is a large, publicly-listed, global technology vendor, the A/NZ business is relatively compact with a startup-like feel. This means small teams, a collaborative ethos, minimal politics, and a fun, progressive culture.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Presales engineering [with programming language knowledge, ideally Java, Microsoft .NET, SQL]
• OR
• Solution architecture [with programming language knowledge, ideally Java, Microsoft .NET, SQL]
• OR
• Software engineering [ideally Java, Microsoft .NET, SQL]

[You do not need to be a software engineer to be successful in this role. An ability to decipher code would be sufficient].
