About the Role

Are you passionate about health policy, data, and improving Australia’s public hospital system? This Federal Government agency is seeking a Classification Officer to support the development and refinement of clinical classifications and funding frameworks that underpin nationally consistent hospital funding.
This role sits within a branch responsible for health policy, classification systems, and funding design, working closely with clinical, technical, and government stakeholders to ensure accuracy, consistency, and transparency in the way hospital services are classified and funded across Australia.


Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Support the Classification Manager in developing and refining clinical classifications and associated specifications.
  • Interpret and communicate data insights and develop related metadata.
  • Contribute to the technical design and documentation of classification frameworks.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clinical, technical, and government stakeholders
  • Support project and program management activities to ensure successful delivery of work programs.

About You
 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven experience managing or supporting projects or programs in a policy, technical, or health context.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team.
