Apply: Senior Accountant/Lead - Reconciliations

Our client is a leading Australian financial services group and employer of choice offering a flexible working environment and high performance culture.

Due to growth in the business they have a newly created role within their financial control team for a financial accountant with strong reconciliations experience to focus on an interesting role which is a combination of leadership, BAU activities and project / process improvement.  

Reporting into the Financial Controller you will focus on:
  • Managing the reconciliation process for the relevant entities in accordance with the reporting requirements complying with Australian equivalents to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Ensuring adherence Financial Control Accounting policy (impacting statutory, regulatory and management reporting).
  • Researching and documenting complex accounting issues
  • Ensuring issues are communicated and agreed within Finance, operations, external stakeholders (auditors & regulatory bodies)
  • Ensuring the integrity of the general ledger data from various sources
  • Ensuring the integrity of the general ledger data for each of the divisions and entities
  • Ensuring adherence to Group Accounting policy
  • Act as a key relationship manager with internal and external auditors
  • Manage a team and contribute to the creation of a positive work environment characterised by motivation, productivity, learning and accountability
  • Provide technical support on key projects proposed by business executives and Finance 

This is a great role for an CA/CPA qualified financial accountant with strong reconciliations experience or a senior reconciliations accountant. In addition to relevant BAU experience you will also have leadership/mentoring exposure and project / process improvement experience.  Financial services experience is preferred.
