Planning Support Officer - Cardinia Shire Council

Statutory Planning Officer

Contract: ASAP start | 3 months
Rate: $40 per hour + super

A local government authority is seeking a Statutory Planning Officer for a short‑term contract to support counter services and statutory planning functions.
This role is customer‑facing and supports planning application processing and enquiries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Front‑counter and phone customer service for planning enquiries
  • Respond to general planning enquiries, property information requests, secondary consents, plan endorsements and extensions of time
  • Process minor amendments, VicSmart applications and permit extensions
  • Prepare written responses and provide internal planning support
  • Assist with records management and administrative tasks
Skills & Experience
  • Understanding of statutory planning processes and planning legislation
  • Experience in statutory planning (preferred)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Current driver’s licence
