The Role & Opportunity
You will be working as a Test and Release Manager within the technology team of our global client and will be involved in the efficient management of testing and releases in conjunction with the related third party vendors. This is a new role for the team and will require the development of a Testing and Release framework based on best practice, along with the development of the required policies, standards and procedures.
 
Key Deliverables:
  • Overall ownership of testing and release management
  • Develop, implement and manage a robust testing and release management framework based on best practice.
  • Guide business users in developing test plans and scripts for User Acceptance Testing
  • Ensure business users are completing User Acceptance Testing and providing sign-off
  • Perform defect management and resolution with the business and 3rd party vendors
  • Complete integration testing between 3rd party vendors and applications
  • Ownership and development of Jira to support and govern all testing activity
  • Development of a release calendar in conjunction with business and 3rd party vendors
  • As part of release management ensure that there is a “product transition” process with completed production readiness assessments for BAU in place for all planned technology changes.
  • Ensure all 3rd party support contracts have consistent Disaster Recovery testing
  • In conjunction with 3rd party vendors ensure annual Disaster Recovery Testing is executed for all required applications.
  • Work with team and manager to improve internal customer and employee engagement.
 
Experience and Skills:
  • Experienced in a similar role
  • A high level of problem solving, negotiation and facilitation skills
  • Capacity to influence the decision making process with stakeholders
  • Ability to explain technical constraints to non-technical stakeholders
  • Able to define measurable test cases to meet functional and non-functional requirements
  • Knowledge of related Technology best practices
  • A high standard of communication skills (verbal and written), building rapport with direct reports, managers and peers
  • Exercise sound judgment within the field of expertise undertaking complex activities and provide sound advice
  • Self-motivated, use of initiative and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work as a team member with a strong focus on outcomes that ensure best results for the business
  • Self-motivated, with strong ability to work both independently and with teams and managers as appropriate
