DFP Recruitment Perth are seeking a suitably experienced applicant that is looking to enter or try something new in the Federal Government sector with this amazing opportunity. This position is located in Midland on an 18 Month initial assignment with possible extension.

Please note, this opportunity is only available to Australian Citizens and who are able to obtain a baseline security clearance/clean police clearance (client will take you through the process upon being offered the position).

You will be working for DFP Recruitment and placed with the Client on a casual full time basis, this position cannot work from home and is based in the Midland office Monday to Friday, full time hours.

About the Role

The APS3 Participant Support Officer is a team membership position and is responsible for setting priorities and managing work flow for their role and producing work that is subject to regular monitoring by more senior positions within their management structure.

The position will undertake procedural, clerical, administrative support and operational tasks including some basic research and analysis activities.

The position may have a public contact role and may be required to communicate with and provide straightforward advice to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Managing and resolving participant matters by actioning planning tasks as per the relevant Act.
Providing counter/reception support for the local office including participant enquiries in the self-help kiosks and online support.
Resolving customer enquiries, providing information and/or referring customers to appropriate government or community services.
Managing the team shared email inbox, appointments and telephone enquiries.
Coordinating appointments with the use of Agency office facilities and ensuring facilities are accessible for participants.
Undertaking research and investigation activities and preparing associated reports and correspondence.
Undertaking a range of data entry activities and ensuring follow up is completed.
Receiving and recording complaints and other feedback in the Business systems.

About you:

As the PSO, you will present with a high level of personal resilience and the ability to deal with emotional and challenging customer circumstances and high workload demands. This role will involve liaising with participants on a face to face basis and at times, delivering difficult news / handling challenging conversations.

To be successful in this role you will ideally have proven experience within a customer service environment, ideally within a government setting.

In addition, you will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Advanced MS Office Suite
Office Support/Administration (minimum of 2 years)
Strong Customer Service experience
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong organisational skills
A high attention to detail
Having a strong interest or previous experience with the Disability Sector would be an advantage.
