The resource will be required to represent projects being delivered by the Project Office for the continuous accreditation of classified systems. This will include the production of security documentation as specified by the ISM. The work will involve liaising with system and application managers, IT Security and the large government department teams. The work will include a broad range of advisory services covering governance, risk, compliance and cyber topics within moderately-complex environments.

Skills and Knowledge required / Major Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain security documentation for ICT solutions being delivered by the project office in accordance with the ISM.
  2. Update corporate information security documentation to reflect changes introduced by ICT solutions being delivered by the project office.
  3. Conduct security risk assessments and provide advice and guidance on the application and operation of physical, procedural and technical security controls to support the longer-term business objectives and minimise the risk of internal and external security threats.
  4. Assist project staff in designing and advising on the ICT security aspects of solutions that provide appropriate levels of resiliency, availability, reliability, and performance.
  5. Primary skills and experience: Minimum four (4) year’s Information Security experience.
  6. Software development security (DevSecOps).
  7. Cloud-based security solutions.
  8. Security of virtualisation products (VMware vSphere, VMware vRealize Automation, VMware Horizon and/or Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops).
  9. Containerisation security (Kubernetes and/or OpenShift).
 
Location of work: The role may be based in Canberra, Melbourne or Sydney. Roles based in Melbourne and Sydney will be expected to be able to travel to Canberra as required (subject to COVID-19 restrictions).
Length of contract: 12 and 24 month contracts will be considered, unless negotiated otherwise.
 
Security Requirements: Due to the nature of the work, the mandatory clearance level required to apply for these roles is a minimum of Negative Vetting 2.
 
The mandatory clearance level required for these roles is Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) as a minimum, however Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) clearance holders are preferred. Successful candidates will be required to upgrade or gain acceptance of their clearances to TSPV status before commencement and depending on the age and / or level of their current clearance, could take between three and 12 months.
