One of Sydney's top Universities are looking for an Master Data Officer - Supplier Management | Supplier Master Data Officer to join their team on a 6 - 12 Month contract. 

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and independent Master Data Officer to support our Finance | supplier management team. This role focuses on the creation, maintenance, and ongoing accuracy of supplier profiles within thier system (PeopleSoft), ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulations. You will be responsible for performing due diligence during the supplier onboarding process, managing a large database of suppliers, and maintaining data integrity. This is an administrative role, not financial or accounting-focused, but requires high attention to detail and an understanding of data management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain a large supplier database (approximately 20,000 active suppliers) ensuring the accuracy of supplier information.
• Perform manual due diligence on suppliers, including verifying bank details and handling changes in supplier information.
• Onboard new suppliers into the system and ensure that all required data and documents are complete and compliant.
• Deactivate suppliers as required and ensure the database is kept up to date.
• Conduct regular reviews to ensure data integrity and compliance with internal regulations.
• Liaise with procurement teams, legal departments, and other internal stakeholders to manage and maintain supplier relationships and information.
• Support the team with system updates, data audits, and troubleshooting any discrepancies or issues with supplier profiles.
• Work independently with minimal supervision, managing workloads and meeting deadlines consistently.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in supplier management or a similar administrative data role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets with accuracy.
• Experience using PeopleSoft, Ariba, and ServiceNow, or similar systems is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with the Australian Business Register and understanding trading relationships and business compliance is advantageous.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
