Apply: Development Manager / Head of Development - South East Asia

My client is an property funds management business that is currently going through a large period of growth. Due to this growth, they have partnered with us to identify an experienced Development Manager to make the move overseas to a Country in South East Asia. 

They are seeking to bring on an experienced commercial, industrial and logistics Development Manager to make the move and work with part of the wider Development and Funds Management Team. This Development Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of multiple projects and working alongside the Country Director in the strategic director of the business for the Country. 
 
Role overview:

• This role requires you to relocate to South East Asia and lead the development of these projects. 
• You will have a high level of ability to assess, identify and manage all potential risks associated to the projects, as well as developing recommendations for project risk mitigation.
• Have the ability to seek out opportunities to implement strategies to ensure delivery of projects in line with the development plan and business strategy.
• Manage contractual obligations of project partners and contractors to ensure delivery of agreed project outcomes.
• This role requires the Development Manager to manage the consistency of the design and project process, and to check for end user functionality in compliance with best practice industry standards.
• Developing and managing effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• This candidate will also provide their expert financial and market opinion on future development acquisitions by working alongside the national acquisitions team.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail will be required to ensure accurate financials and management of the forecast, design fees and budgets, and all associated 3rd.

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate will have the proven experience to deliver all aspects of commercial, logistics and industrial development projects.
• They will have at least 5 years of Development Management experience with a notable institution or developer within the logistics and industrial market in Australia.
• They will have a degree in either real estate, construction or similar, and will have worked in a technical delivery role early on in their career.
• Excellent financial acumen is required as there will be financial reporting management required, along with assisting in future site development acquisitions.
• Having experience in project and design management will allow this candidate to manage the inputs and outputs for a commercial assessment.
• Have the ability to problem solve, plan ahead, have a good working understanding of contracts and agreements, and their drafting.
• Have strong organisational and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A strong understanding of real estate in the Australian marketplace.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Have the ability to work in a team environment and on your own.
