Asset Information Officer

We are currently seeking an experienced Asset Information Officer to start immediately with one of our clients. This role will work under direction of senior officers to develop and update their corporate asset registers and associated geographical and spatial datasets, including the variation of transport, recreation, building, stormwater, wastewater, and land within the relevant business units.

Position Responsibilities will include:

Liaise with internal stakeholders to obtain information from asset inspections, renewal and maintenance programming and financial reporting, and update and input associated datasets. Undertake data management functions to rectify inaccuracies in their spatial datasets, in particular land and property, asset and environmental to ensure confidence to support business decision making. Provide support in project tasks, as it relates to validation and inputting of assets, including update and maintain asset registers and spatial datasets.

Provide asset and GIS data reporting through data extraction from GIS databases inform decision making throughout the organisation.
Assisting in developing their GIS capability to support the function of the Assets and Business Systems teams.
Correct data inaccuracies in spatial datasets.
Assist with asset validation and data entry for projects.

Knowledge and Experience Required:

Demonstrated skillset in the use of databases and spatial information systems, including extraction of data, data presentation and the analysis of associated data.
Knowledge of asset data to contribute to best practice asset management planning including presentation and analysis.
Knowledge of database concepts such as table structures, data normalisation and relational databases.
Experience in use of geographical information and asset management systems.
Proven high level of written and oral communication skills, including well developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to explain a range of complex matters in plain English, to a range of audiences.

This role requires you to hold a current police check or willing to obtain one immediately.
