Our client is a leading global insurance group and employer of choice.  They offer a superb employee experience and have won numerous awards within the industry for products and innovation.

Due to growth in the team they have an opportunity for a Reinsurance Accountant to join in a broad role.  Reporting into the Head of Reinsurance you will focus on providing reinsurance accounting reporting as well as providing advice to key stakeholders relating to reinsurance matters.  

Key deliverables will include:
  • Provide reinsurance support and reporting to ensure the group is compliant to all accounting and regulatory and statutory reporting requirements
  • Collate and validate data to ensure compliance to statutory and regulatory reporting for reinsurance accounting
  • Collate statistical, underwriting and claim data from branches and subsidiaries
  • Provide reinsurance advice to key stakeholders in order to support planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Proactively identify and drive system and process improvements and changes
  • Involvement in major projects as an SME (ie finance transformation and IFRS17)
Required skills and experience:
  • CA/CPA qualified accountant
  • 3 years post qualified experience in a General or Reinsurance group
  • Deep understanding of Reinsurance and the legislative and regulatory requirements and impacts
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex data and information to extract meaningful decision support and commentary
