We have a fantastic opportunity for a Client Director – Water to lead our client strategy in the growing water sector and guide the business through the affordable waters transition. Due to our ongoing success in delivery for water clients in New Zealand this newly established role will be based in Wellington and will have a priority focus working with Wellington Water. The successful candidate will have the ability to build long term trusting relationships and experience in leading teams to deliver exceptional client service.

Reporting into the Director Earth, Environment and Water you will be responsible for the overall leadership of Water clients in Wellington to ensure WSP has long-term enduring relationships with these clients, growing market share, brand reputation, client advocacy and commercial performance.

You’ll be an existing or emerging industry expert with strong infrastructure delivery and/or water engineering experience

There is plenty of room here to shape the role to suit. We are also looking to recruit a Water Leader and Programme Leader in this location.

The Role:

Provide commercial guidance in the bid process to ensure WSP Water service offerings are commercially achieved and commercially viable.
Act as Project Director focussed on service excellence and be accountable to deliver on time the best possible outcomes for our clients
With the wider WSP Water Leadership team identify, develop and enhance current opportunities, and lead the preparation of proposals that wow.
Implement Business Development strategies which facilitate generation of additional revenue and services from Water clients
Be accountable for meeting revenue and margin targets. Monitor and understand commercial profitability of the projects.
Drive differentiation and the delivery of quality solutions by building on our existing core capabilities. Work in close collaboration with delivery teams to ensure excellent client service to Water clients in our main centres.
Achieve exceptional outcomes for our clients and stakeholders, maximising commercial and project outcomes
Take a leading role in the delivery of key or strategic projects in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Leading engagement with clients and stakeholders on Wellington water projects, including supporting relationship management.

Requirements:

Minimum of 15 years' professional experience in client facing leadership roles within related industry
Excellent stakeholder management and relationship skills with proven ability to influence at all levels in large complex organisations.
Commercial acumen to grow revenue, profit and market share.
Project Directing experience on multi-discipline Water projects.
An ability to actively listen and to clearly present ideas, information and advice to a range of audiences.
Proven strategic thinker with the ability to develop and lead the execution of long-term client and business development strategies to increase revenue growth, profit, and market share.
