Apply: API Integration Designer

APIs connect disparate software systems, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities
  • Owning and supporting the integration patterns for programs/projects (will be supported and backed by API Delivery teams)
  • Creating conceptual end to end integration deliverables, technical specification documents and recommend high quality solutions for the integration platform
  • Understanding and aligning to the organization's API Strategy and making sure we are applying it through decisions made
  • Supporting decision making around integration solutions including representation at relevant architecture governance forums
  • Advocating the need and design for Business services (inline with how and what we use to build business apis)
  • Providing interlock between domains where integration is required
  • Liaising with other architects (security, infrastructure, solution etc) to understand the impact on Integration Architecture and Delivery teams
  • Helping assess new tech for suitability to Integration Landscape
Requirements
  • 10+ years of IT experience working in software development preferably in Java/J2EE
  • 5+ years designing, building and delivering APIs
  • Recent experiences in Mule, Spring Boot will be advantageous
  • Understanding of Cloud and Serverless like Azure or AWS will be highly desirable
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to translate deep technical concepts into simple and easily understood business terms
  • Understanding of API architectures, standards, practises, life-cycle management, and business models
  • Familiar with agile and continuous delivery practises
  • Ability to initiate, lead and embed capability uplift
  • Exposure to API Delivery in medium to large programs of work.
  • Relevant experience in stakeholder management
  • Ability to bring one or more teams on a Journey
