We’re looking for an energetic, customer orientated individual to join our South Melbourne Dig Dog site. As a Dog Day-care Attendant you will assist the Day-care Operations Manager and other day-care attendants to supervise the dogs within the day-care facility and play an important role through the relationships you develop with the dogs and the general responsibilities you will undertake on a day to day basis. 

You will be responsible for:
  • Providing outstanding customer service
  • Preparation of the play enclosures to suit the volume of dogs
  • Cleaning & maintenance of all areas
  • Clearing away of animal waste, clean, disinfect and look after animal play areas
  • Bathe and groom animals
  • Preparation of food (including special diets), transfer animals to feeding areas, and ensure adequate rest after feeding
  • Clean and prepare comfortable sleeping quarters for animals
  • Report serious health problems to Manager & adhere our OSH procedures and processes
  • Transfer animals between enclosures
  • Maintain animal records

To be successful in the role, you must:
  • Have a passion for dogs and their welfare
  • Enjoy practical and manual activities
  • Be free from allergies aggravated by animal hair, fur and dust
  • Have a positive, can do attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Have the ability to work unsupervised
  • Be physically fit as you will be undertaking manual and sometimes heavy lifting 
  • Be able to handle dogs with confidence and patience
  • Have a willingness to learn
  • Be observant and methodical in your work
  • Ability to work weekdays, weekends, public holidays and university holidays as required
