About the role
 
Our client is a leading global financial services group and employer of choice. They have a collaborative, flexible and people focused culture and offer a hybrid working structure. They currently have excellent opportunity for a Senior Tax Lead to join their tax team.

The Senior Tax Lead is responsible for the delivery of tax advisory and compliance services to the business units and the CFO on tax matters, including direct and indirect taxes, transactional taxes, international taxes, and transfer pricing.

Key deliverables will include:
 
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality tax advice and solutions that are aligned with business objectives and risk appetite.
  • Work within and contribute to the tax risk and compliance framework, including the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of tax risks and compliance obligations.
  • Liaise and negotiate with the relevant tax authorities on tax audits and disputes and ensure the timely and accurate resolution of tax issues.
  • Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of tax policies and procedures that reflect best practice and comply with tax laws and regulations.
  • Drive the continuous improvement and automation of tax processes and systems, leveraging data analytics and technology.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including the business units, the CFO, and the tax authorities.
  • Develop and mentor the tax team, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and excellence.
 
Required skills and experience:

  • Expert knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including direct and indirect taxes, transactional taxes, international taxes, and transfer pricing.
  • 15+ years’ experience in tax advisory and compliance
  • Life Insurance, banking and financial services industry experience essential
  • Experience in leading and managing tax audits and disputes.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining tax policies and procedures.
