Our client, a large Government organisation, seeks an experienced Data Migration Lead to join them working on a large digital transformation program.
This is an excellent opportunity to lead a newly created data migration team and provide leadership and expert support in the delivery of data architecture solutions and data-related analysis.
The role will also drive development of their data governance framework, data architecture and data processing approaches. This effort will primarily increase data maturity for customer experience insights to inform service enhancements for the organisation. 

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to ongoing management of data management systems and solutions including enhancements, capacity management, performance monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues to ensure effective and optimal usage of systems and resources
  • Partner with customers and stakeholders to design, build and maintain data management systems and provide end to end solutions to meet business, technical and user needs and requirements
  • Provide technical hands-on data migration projects delivery
  • Successful delivery of data migrations projects including strong domain knowledge in data analysis, data cleansing, data deduping and data mapping, and integration tools
  • Effective management of migrations scope (including changes in scope), to ensure successful delivery of data migrations projects
  • Evaluating complex data requests, data issues, and opportunities to maximise value to client's solution
  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of innovative data management system and solution from concepts to production including testing and integration to ensure fit for purpose solutions through, engineering, deployment, and commercialisation
  • Identify, design, and evaluate process improvements to deliver automation, optimise data delivery and re-design infrastructure for greater scalability
  • Take technical ownership for data and data pipelines to ensure compliance with data standards, architectural standards, and achievement of business requirements
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of latest industry trends and innovations in data architecture and solutions to champion continuous improvement and maximise service delivery to achieve effective project outcomes
  • Monitor systems, identify risk and emerging issues, and recommend solutions to ensure compliance with data, information and security management requirements
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and other customers and stakeholders to ensure active support and resolution of risk related matters to align with organisational requirements and business objectives
Requirements:
  • Software or data engineering background and relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated current knowledge in the areas of information management products.
  • Technical expertise to deliver data and analytical services including data ingestion, transformation, storage and reporting.
  • Experience dealing with a diverse range of complex matters and highly conceptual issues, in order to recommend practical solutions, often within limited timeframes.
  • Ability to translate technical and complex information into plain English. 
  • Solid background in agile delivery methodology and experience working within and alongside agile delivery squads.
  • Experience in Tableau, Power BI and Qlik is an advantage.
