Join a blue chip Australian Financial Institution in their successful and growing Analytics team. This is a newly created role and will allow you to take ownership of your projects and create an impact within the business.
 
The Role
  • Perform deep dives/investigations where required to provide an accurate and deep understanding of the business drivers.
  • Work in partnership with senior managers to develop tailored business solutions.
  • Collect, analyse and present actionable insights to enable strategic business plans.
  • Utilise analytical skills to isolate valuable data, noting trends and patterns in order to inform decisions and identify improvements to business processes.
  • Collaborate closely with Business Unit reporting teams to establish critical new reporting for sales & operational teams.
  • Build a deep understanding of the relevant data & systems landscape & optimise the data extraction processes to be as repeatable & reliable as possible & to meet ongoing reporting & ad hoc analytics needs
  • Ensure adequate risks and controls exist to provide accurate information. Capture and document business logic changes.
  • Ensure consistency in reported numbers between reports and systems.
  • Demonstrate strong behaviour & leadership that aligns with the organisation’s values. Build deep relationships with the Wealth business & banking business partners to maximise the effectiveness of reporting & insights generated to help achieve desired business outcomes.
  • A clear ability to generate insights from data, engage and communicate those insights to non-technical business stakeholders.
  • Be curious. Actively seek to bring fresh ideas an innovative thinking to the table to improve Business performance.
  • Develop commercial excellence and sales analytics that focus on key performance lead indicators and retention drivers.
 
Skills and Experience
  • B.S. in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics etc
  • Proven experience in analytics, reporting & generating actionable insights
  • Experienced user of analytical tools in Excel including VBA, Tableau, R, Python
  • Solid understanding of SQL
  • Experience on a cloud based big data platform, AWS or Azure
  • AGILE and Project Management tool proficiency
  • 3-5+ years relevant experience in a similar level
