How will I Help?As part of the Rules and Controls Excellence (RACE) Program, we are looking to build our capability and hire a Senior Technical Business Analyst to help us analyse source data and perform data mapping for regulatory reports currently supported by our Economic and Financial Statistics (EFS) Application. You will be working closely with a diverse range of business and potentially technical stakeholders to deliver the data analysis and data mapping.
 
Key responsibilities: 
  • Analyse current and target data sources intended to be used as inputs into regulatory reports supported by the EFS This will require querying and understanding:
    • Current data sources (via older copies of production data and files) and
    • Available target source data in database
  • Identify and document any source data quality issues and articulate potential impact on downstream
  • Perform element/attribute level data mapping between the sources and the target data model.
  • Familiar with EFS regulatory reports and data elements/attributes.
  • Familiar with Agile delivery methodology and tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence). Ability to break down scope / concepts to tasks and deliver in an iterative fashion.
  • Incorporate project, data analysis and business analysis best practices and incorporate continuous improvement practices into project
  • Ensure that risks are identified, prepare business impacts and risk assessments and develop risk mitigation
 
The following experience will be an advantage: 
  • Strong analytical skills and possess experience in Data related projects and proficiency in data analysis and data
  • You will need to be an excellent communicator (written and verbal), who can build relationships with key stakeholders across business and
  • Strong stakeholder management skills - including skills in information gathering and understanding business
  • Minimum 3-5 years Technical Business Analysis
  • Understand the Westpac data eco system – data warehouses (EDW, St George, Westpac) & DDEP/ADAPT
  • SQL Queries
  • ETL experience
  • Worked on Regulatory Reporting / APRA initiatives including EFS, Basel III, APS220 or
  • Experience in working across remote, co-located
