The Opportunities:

We have several fantastic opportunities for experienced Environmental Planners to join WSP in the following locations:

Gisborne
Rotorua
Blenheim
Greymouth

Our Planning teams specialise in providing technical expertise to various clients. We provide advice and support complex development proposals throughout all stages of the planning process, from strategy and policy development to consenting and post-consent monitoring. Many of our projects respond to our local critical infrastructure issues, enabling positive future outcomes for our communities. We are proud to be leaving a legacy for future generations.

We are looking for enthusiastic team players with a client-centric focus and a desire to deliver excellent planning outcomes. You will have planning experience, a proven ability to work to a high standard, strong communication skills, a passion for sharing your knowledge, and a desire to learn and contribute to the ongoing success of our team.

You will be an experienced Planner with good knowledge and experience of the planning process, including planning applications, policy development and review, designations, and the hearing and appeal process. You will be well versed in using critical thinking to prepare policy solutions to national direction, planning assessments and consenting strategies for projects of all scales, and preparing resource consents, including AEEs. Strong relationships with local authorities and local iwi and hapu are an advantage.

About You:

Holds a relevant tertiary qualification in a related discipline
Previous experience in a Planner role
Strong technical skills and a passion for achieving broader community outcomes
A commercial approach to planning and development
A desire to work in a growing planning team, surrounded and supported by Planning, Engagement, and Sustainability experts
Relationship-oriented and solutions focused
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
