Pricing Actuary / Lead – Long Tail Portfolio  – General Insurance
Reporting to the Senior Pricing Manager of this long tail portfolio, you will lead the quantitative analysis and modelling to inform all pricing decisions.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide pricing recommendations and insights to stakeholders
  • Develop and implement the best practice pricing models while looking at claims, customer retention and pricing scenarios
  • Own the rating and pricing models through advanced analytics techniques
  • Lead and coach a team of 3 Analysts/ Senior Actuarial Analysts
 
About yourself:
  • 4+ years within a general insurer within pricing, valuations or capital
  • Exposure to long tail portfolio is preferred (ex: CTP, Workers Compensation, etc)
  • Tertiary education with a quantitative background (ex: Actuarial, Statistics, etc)
  • Excellent technical skills – using SAS, R, Python, Emblem and Radar
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written form) to manage key stakeholders
