About The Client

The client is a market leading contract manufacturer of animal health products boasting a purpose built facility based near Penrith. The client has a growing order book and has several exciting years ahead.  Delivering into the worlds largest manufacturers of animal health products the business provides a huge opportunity for a polished Operations Manager to shape the future of the operation.

About The Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager the role holder will hold authority over the entire animal health site. With 60 people in manufacturing operating a 2 shift production facility the role holder will control manufacturing and the strategy of it. Specifically you will:
  • Ensure optimal utilization of plant, equipment and personnel (including new CAPEX investment)
  • Ensure production is to a GMP standard and safety is of paramount importance on site
  • Perform all first line management
  • Ensure compliance to all current GMP legislative and licensing requirements associated with animal health formulations
  • Provide the highest level of DIFOT and customer service with any non conformance investigated, resolved and corrective action implemented
  • Develop training plans for all site operatives (manufacturing and distribution)
  • In conjunction wit the Technical and Quality Directors lead all Audits and ensure raw materials are available and of the highest quality prior to production
The role is challenging, fast paced and will require a hands on Operations Manager with real expertise around GMP production.

About You
  • A proven manufacturing/ operations or plant manager with experience gained from animal health or pharmaceutical (with WCM food also being considered)
  • A Tertiary Degree in Chemistry or Engineering related subject
  • Extensive experience leading a GMP/ WCM manufacturing operation, management of a team of 50 + and exposure to inbound/ outbound supply chain
You will be keen to take on a broad role within a privately owned manufacturer requiring extensive expertise In GMP led production, CAPEX investment, Health and Safety and a thorough understanding of advanced quality environments.
