Rare opportunity to lead and shape the future direction of one of the world’s most respected aeromedical services.
NSW Ambulance is one of the largest and most modern ambulance services in the world and stands at the forefront of emergency medical care. It is a division of NSW Health and provides emergency and non-emergency clinical care, retrieval, and specialist patient transport services to a population of over 8 million, delivered by its 8,000 staff through 250 locations across metropolitan and regional NSW.

We utilise both fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft with a statewide fleet of 13 helicopters, 7 fixed wing aircraft and 8 road retrieval ambulances and transport 12,000 patients per year. We are recognised as a beacon of thought leadership in the sector.

In this high profile, strategic role reporting to the Executive Director Aeromedical & Special Operations, you will:

Ensure the medical workforce within Aeromedical Operations meets operational demands, is clinically effective, safe, credentialed and supported.
Work collaboratively with clinical staff to ensure rigorous review of patient outcomes with effective uptake of safety initiatives and ensure key quality and safety performance measures are achieved.
Participate in clinical rosters as a State Retrieval Consultant and Prehospital & Retrieval Specialist, and in a shared senior on-call roster.
Develop and implement innovative, evidence based and contemporary work practices which drive the delivery of world class aeromedical, retrieval and emergency management services.
Forge strong relationships across NSW Ambulance as well as with diverse stakeholders including statewide, national, and international emergency services, NSW Ministry of Health, local health districts and other associated agencies.
The ideal applicant will demonstrate the following criteria:
