A leading consumer organisation is seeking for a Data Protection and Privacy Program Manager. Data Governance requires strong and robust security and privacy measures. This coupled with the increasing regulations for compliance and high risk of data breaches requires that we manage this risk with high focus.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for policies, processes and implementing framework to assess and ensure that our eco-system’s partner have adequate data protection measures in place, in addition you will be responsible to respond to third-party requests for information and maintain compliance documentation. You will also be working towards shaping the design and implementation strategies of privacy management framework and compliance schemes
 
Responsibility
 

• Establish and maintain process to respond to valid data subject requests (access, deletion, correction, etc.) and privacy-related incident investigation and response activities
• Determination of when incidents require notification to individuals, clients and/or regulators
• Develop and maintain critical documentation required for ongoing assessment of privacy risks, including Data Inventories, Business Information Flow Maps, etc.
• Assist Privacy Office (virtual team legal, data security and data governance) in identifying and assessing privacy risks in business units and operations; collaborate with business stakeholders in designing and implementing action plans to mitigate privacy risks.
• Develop policies, processes and automation required for performing Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIAs) on Business Partner and Merchants
• Stay on top of privacy trends and emerging regulatory compliance requirements in APAC (e.g., country-specific data privacy laws etc.) that could potentially impact the business
• Identify cross border transfers and co-ordinates and implements multi-jurisdictional transfers of personal data
• Coordinate with 3rd party security vendors to ensure that can achieve relevant security resilience and data privacy compliance (e.g. GDPR and PDPA)
• Build relationships with industrial associations, regulators, and partners

 
Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science/Informatics/Engineering or any other relevant fields;
• 10 years of working experience in policy and governance related to data sharing, and/or hands-on experience in delivering end-to-end data sharing solutions, from conceptualization to deployment.
• A working knowledge of how to establish a data security and/or privacy program including how to achieve business alignment, data governance, data subject inquiry and compliant handling processes
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to Privacy, including but not limited to GDPR, PDPA and the NIST standards or equivalent
• Strong verbal and written communication skills including experience in Audit/Compliance/Regulatory discussions
• Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders and influencing successfully across levels and organizational boundaries
• Knowledge of Data Protection Regulation and online data privacy and protection
• Must have knowledge and hands-on experience on breach notification and privacy laws around data breach scenarios
