Our client is one of Australian's Leading Insurance and Investment organisations and an employer of choice.  They are currently going through a period of exciting growth and change and as such have an opportunity for a high calibre finance business partner to join their Performance Management team.

Reporting into the Head of Performance Management you will focus on partnering with senior business stakeholders at the GM level, delivering commercial insights to allow them to maximise profitability. 

Key deliverables will include:

  • Take ownership of month end reporting, planning, budgeting, forecasting and other processes as appropriate
  • Deliver planning, forecasting, accounting, reporting, and analysis
  • Partnering with Executives and Senior leaders to influence and provide direction for the appropriate financial targets and goals for the group as part of target setting
  • Ownership and production of reporting against plan which includes productivity and insights.
  • Provide commercial insight and advisory on activities and performance using commercial (economic, financial, industry) information to understand the relative vertical business performance
  • Conducting financial review meetings, as part of the finance team, with senior leaders to provide analysis, identify performance drivers, risks and opportunities and provide strategies to mitigate the risks as appropriate
  • Contribute towards strategy formulation in order to deliver sustainable long term financial performance
  • Contribute towards short and long term enterprise planning including stakeholder management during planning cycle, coordinating of inputs and aligning vertical business lines to the long term financial plan
  • Assist with ad hoc and recurring report generation, inquiries, presentations and analysis for Executives and the Board or Senior Management
  • Drive continuous improvements that enable greater commercial insight

This is a permanent opportunity for an experienced finance business partner to join a leading Australian financial services group in a highly commercial role.

Required skills and experience:
  • CA/CPA/CIMA qualified with minimum 3-5 years PQE in FP&A, decision support or finance business partnering
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience within financial services/insurance industry
  • Previous experience with BI tools (Hyperion preferable)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Budgeting, planning & forecasting experience
  • Solid relationship / stakeholder management skills
