Key Responsibilities

• Medical Underwriting – accountable for managing medical underwriting, ensuring service standards are met in delivering accurate and timely medical underwriting decisions within agreed TAT and SLA, handling product queries and applications;
• Liaise with Global Health Underwriting Team to gather information and opinions for complex cases and queries
• Keep detailed records of policies underwritten, decisions made and develop, maintain a profitable book in compliance with applicable insurance laws
• Work with the claims team in handling non-disclosure cases with quarterly updates and audit of cases for the respective partners
• Carry out with the Project Managers Product Refresh and Development activities in compliance with local market regulations
• Review, create, draft and timely delivery of materials for internal and external stakeholders such as forms, endorsements, policy wordings
• Update underwriting guidelines and training materials, review of underwriting tools to improve efficiency
• Product Risk Governance – ensure products are aligned with product strategy

 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Minimum 3 to 5 years in insurance experience
• International healthcare market experience would be desirable
• Professional training in insurance relevant functions e.g. underwriting is preferred
• Meticulous and detailed oriented with analytical capability and numerical skills
• Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrate knowledge of Mandarin to engage with relevant business partners
• Project and change management skills
• Good self-organisation and motivation
• Proficient in relevant software tools (e.g. Microsoft Tools)
