Our client is a leading ASX listed financial services organisation and employer of choice.  They are a household name in the market and a leader within their field.

Due to an internal promotion they are looking for an exceptional financial reporting manager from a general insurance background who can join their high performing group finance team and deliver end to end financial control, financial and regulatory reporting for their GI business

Leading a team of 4 and Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting you will focus on:

  • Accurate and timely completion of financial statements, left hand note analysis, ASX Appendices, relevant Board / Board Audit Committee papers and solvency declarations for the GI company
  • Liaison with auditors during the year in relation to potential positions taken, new or amended disclosures and other matters that can be cleared proactively prior to the commencement of the audit planning.
  • Direct the provision of financial information and disclosures to support Group results announcements, investor presentations, organisational restructures, acquisitions / divestments, capital or debt issues / redemptions.
  • Develop artefacts, timetables, tools and templates and process to be used across to deliver year end and half year “results”
  • Responsible for establishing, maintaining and reviewing financial statements model, templates, standard operating procedures, work papers, processes and systems supporting the finance team deliverables across the group
  • APRA and ASIC reporting
  • ABS reporting as required
  • Lead, coach and develop the team ensuring the development of a motivated and high performing team
  • involvement in the IFRS 17 implementation project

This is a highly visible role within the group and will provide an excellent platform to build a successful career within the group. 

Required skills and experience:
  • CA Qualified with 5 years post qualified experience in a technically focused finance manager/financial reporting manager role (ideally within the general insurance industry)
  • High calibre individual history of high achievement
  • Outstanding communication skills 
  • Previous technical accounting / advisory experience would be beneficial (not essential)
  • Big 4 audit experience highly regarded (would consider experienced manager or senior manager with General Insurance clients from Big 4 firm)
