Apply: Production Team Leader / Coordinator

Our client is a professional and trusted name in the steel manufacturing industry. An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and highly motivated Production Team Leader / Coordinator to join their team in South West Sydney on a permanent full time basis.

This role will be based on the production line, you will thrive in this fast paced, physically demanding environment and have a hands on approach to getting the job done. This role is also responsible for the supervision and coordination of the day shift production team, and ensuring that production and quality standards are met at all times.

Your responsibilities would include but are not limited to:

• Coordinating the production flow in accordance with approved schedules
• Ensuring the timely, efficient and safe operation of the production unit
• Conducting daily tool box meetings
• Supervising 10-15 staff and performance management
• Participating in Inductions and training of new staff
• Overseeing the correct operation of machinery
• Reporting on any variance in raw material inventories

The ideal requirements would be:

• Demonstrated experience of working in a manual handling / manufacturing environment
• Tertiary / trade qualification in a metal related discipline highly desirable but one must still understand that this is a hands on role.
• Proficient experience with Inventory software systems ‘Pronto’ or ‘Sap’
• Excellent time management skills
• Any experience in performance management would be desirable
• Must have excellent communications skills
• Forklift Licence would be desirable
• Gantry crane experience would also be highly regarded
• Galvanizing production/manufacturing experience – highly desirable

There will be requirements to work Saturdays and candidates must be open to this requirement.
