The Role:

This role delivers on the divisional risk vision by providing analysis through data to support risk insight, oversight and control to create sustainable value. By simplifying systems, policies and processes to enhance risk management practices across the group whilst remaining fit for purpose, the role will assist with challenging, influencing decisions and optimising risk-reward balance.

 
Major Responsibilities:
  • Support the team of Operational Risk Managers to actively identify and provide insights on operational risk exposure.
  • Identify and communicate emerging /heightened risks and themes across business units/divisions.
  • Develop and support training and accreditation initiatives, driving risk maturity and technical skills uplift across the 1st and 2nd Line.
  • Contribute to project initiatives providing specialised risk insights, oversight and control to support the management of risk exposure resulting from project and change implementation.
  • Advise, support and challenge management in the application of framework and policy components, including risk and control identification and assessment, incident management, issue management, risk appetite statements and risk acceptance.
  • Undertake quality reviews to support continuous improvement of risk management, including thematic reviews of issues, incidents, risk profiles, risk appetite statements and supporting metrics.
  • Provide insights and accuracy of data to support risk reporting.
  • Actively contribute to and participate in Risk community events and maintain active networks.

Knowledge and Experience:
  • 1-3 years of demonstrable experience in analysing and drawing insights from data.
  • Adept in extracting and integrating data from multiple systems and produce consistent templates and reports.
  • Expertise in Excel or tools such as Tableau, Cognos, SQL.
  • Motivated and commercial minded team player, with genuine passion to learn.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a complex corporate environment.
  • Desirable: basic understanding of risk principles, and can interpret data in a forward looking and predictive approach.
