The Role:

Maxima, and Light Regional Council, are looking for a dedicated individual to undertake an Accounts Administration Traineeship working as a Finance Support Officer.

Throughout this 24-month fulltime traineeship you will receive on-the-job training and support by working alongside experienced supervisors and study online towards a nationally recognised Certificate III in Accounts Administration.

Position Duties:

• Assist the Business and Finance department with generating Purchase Orders
• Daily receipting in accordance with established procedures
• Process basic general journals as required by the Accounting Team
• Distribute invoices to other Departments for Authorisation
• Monitor Council’s Accounts and Rates inboxes for requests and queries in relation to Accounts Payable or Receivable
• Assist with the generation of EFT Payment files and remittances

Required Skills:

• High accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent literacy and numeracy and the ability to follow instructions
• Previous customer service experience an advantage but not required
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Positive and approachable disposition
• Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Suite, Outlook (or similar)

Special Conditions:

• Drivers licence
• Full-time position - Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm
• Flexible hours (may include some after hours)
• General employment probity and/or working with children check
• Based at the Kapunda Office but may be required to work at other locations
