Apply: Associate Director - Defense and Aerospace

Our client, a leading NSW Government Department seek an Associate Director  (Defence and Aerospace) to join their team on a contract until the end of the financial year with potential for extension.

The role will lead investment attraction opportunities including international and inter-state business leads and opportunities and management of Jobs Plus applications as well as driving new partnerships to strengthen NSW Government relations with defence and aerospace industry and identify emerging opportunities.

Day to Day Duties:
  • Support the strategic engagement with Department of Defence on major campaigns (Space, Guided Weapons, East Coast Submarine Base, AMPERES).
  • Oversee industry programs such as Regional Defence Networks Program, including performance management and ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, and in line with the Investment NSW’s requirements.
  • Oversee the defence and aerospace presence at domestic and international tradeshows including project management of Indo Pacific, Land Forces and Avalon
  • Oversee stakeholder relationships through established forums including the monthly NSW Defence Networks Forum and NSW Regional Defence Working Group.
Key knowledge and experience
  • Demonstrated project and stakeholder management skills, with experience in undertaking research, data collection and analysis.
  • Experience working in or with government agencies, or a sound understanding of government policy processes and governance.
  • Knowledge of the advanced manufacturing and/or the defence and aerospace ecosystem
