Position: Animal Attendant/ Animal Officer

Location: Kingston

Pay Rate: $34/hr + super

Contract: Mon – Fri, 38 hrs a week for 6 months with possibility of extension.

Maxima is currently seeking a few highly motivated individuals for Animal Attendant/ Animal Officer for one of our local government clients.

Position Summary: The Animal Attendant is responsible for the daily care and welfare of animals within a facility, ensuring they are fed, groomed and maintained in a clean, safe, and enriching environment.
This role supports the health and wellbeing of the animals and assists in general animal husbandry tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Feed, water, and provide general care for animals as per their specific needs.
• Clean and maintain animal enclosures, cages, and living areas.
• Assist in administering medication and ensuring animal health protocols are followed.
• Monitor the behavior and health of animals, reporting any signs of illness or distress to the supervisor.
• Provide enrichment activities for animals to promote mental and physical wellbeing.
• Assist in maintaining accurate animal records.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant animal welfare regulations.
• Assist with customer or public inquiries about the animals when necessary.

Qualifications:

• A thorough understanding of animal husbandry and control regulations. 
• Driver's licence "C"
