Leading banking and insurance group require a strong finance business partner with experience in project finance to join high performing finance team focusing on the financials for a large project. Reporting into the Senior Manager, Project Finance and partnering with senior project managers and PMO Managers you will focus on the following:

  • Support the set-up of critical projects to ensure project financials can be accurately measured across end to end capability/scope
  • Provide regular project financial update to relevant stakeholders and forward-looking insights to call out any early risks/issues and opportunities
  • Prepares project financial status reports and/or project steering committee pack with quality commentaries to project manager/director and senior management.
  • Analysis of variables to delivering the project and provide sensitivity to the financials including cash spend, benefits, ongoing opex and P&L impact for various scenarios.
  • Leading the development, validation and critique of business cases/estimates (financial components) to ensure alignment to the assumptions and drivers for the committee approval.
  • Lead and work with stakeholders to provide robust project financial profiles and forecasts that support forecasting and planning processes, which include responsibility and accountability to validate business assumptions and driver inputs.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • 5 years experience in financial management, preferably in financial services.
  • Understands priorities and key issues for projects.
  • Ability to effectively influence, negotiate and manage expectations at a senior management level.
  • Qualified CA or CPA or equivalent experience
  • Must have experience in working in a large, complex organisation
  • Ideally will have previously partnered with project managers and had project finance experience

This will initially be a 6 month contract which could potentially lead onto longer term contract or permanent role.
