The Role:

Location: Northbridge and Joondalup WA
Duration: 24-month Traineeship

As a Health Practitioner Trainee, you will assist to provide clinical services and health promotion activities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their families.

Under the guidance and supervision of experienced health professionals, your responsibilities will include:

• Assist to perform several health-related services including:
  • Health screenings
  • Sexual health
  • Social support
  • Immunisations
  • Preventative healthcare
• Provide information to clients about health conditions and how to manage these
• Assist to plan, coordinate, and deliver education and health promotion activities for clients and the community
• Maintain accurate and up to date case notes using the practice management system
• Respect and maintain patient confidentiality and privacy
• Deliver services at varied sites including outreach as required

About You:

To be successful in this traineeship, you’ll need:

• Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
• Well-developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including computer literacy
• Showcase initiative and problem-solving skills
• Committed to providing exceptional patient care
• A positive and nurturing attitude
• High standards of presentation and personal hygiene

Eligibility Criteria:

• Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
• Current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
• National Police Check (or willing to obtain)
• Relevant vaccinations (or willing to obtain)
