Temporary Contract (Full Time) Location: Northern Suburbs, Melbourne
Hours: 38 hrs/week | Monday–Friday
Contract: 23 Feb 2026 – 24 Apr 2026
Pay: $42.52 per hour + super

We are seeking three experienced Customer Service Officers to join a busy local government customer service team. In this role, you will support the community across multiple channels, including face‑to‑face, phone, email, social media, and webchat.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver professional, empathetic and accurate customer service
  • Aim for first‑contact resolution wherever possible
  • Manage customer enquiries, requests and complaints
  • Process payments and follow strict cash-handling procedures
  • Update records and log requests using internal CRM systems
  • Assist with front counter, reception, digital queries and general office tasks
  • Work collaboratively with a supportive team across various council locations
About You
  • Previous experience in customer service and contact centre environments
  • Confident in face‑to‑face service and cash‑handling
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written
  • Resilient, calm under pressure, and able to manage challenging customer interactions
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly (Microsoft Office + CRM systems)
  • Motivated, team‑focused, and committed to delivering high‑quality service
