Environmental Specialist

Our client is actively seeking an experienced Environmental Specialist to join their team out of their Edison, NJ location! This individual will be responsible for all HSE data collection and processing, as well as ensuring all records are in compliance with applicable federal and state health and safety regulations. This is a full-time, contract opportunity with a global leader in the chemical manufacturing industry!


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform basic data collection and processing, maintains HSE LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) records to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.
• Applies a working knowledge of pertinent HSE LDAR regulations, practices, procedures and programs.
• Trains employees on safety policies, procedures and LDAR regulations.
• Participates in OSHA inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Completes projects in a timely manner.

• Knowledge and experience with Access and SAP a plus.

• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardised situations. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent with some college.
• 1-4 years experience in health, safety and/or environmental. 1. Experience with NJ Environmental Regs (esp. large quantity generator)
2. Technical proficiency in reading P&IDs and understanding environmental data.
3. Analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze environmental data and assess impact and implement recommendations.
