National firm is bolstering its general insurance practice in Sydney by seeking to hire a highly motivated 5-8 year General Insurance Senior Associate with expertise in general liability, public liability & property damages to join their Sydney team.

Acting for a unique client base of corporate insurers, sporting bodies/associations & leisure centres to name a few, you will have the opportunity to become involved in a broad mix of general liability & indemnity including:
  • Defence of general liability matters including complex personal & catastrophic injury, public/product liability & property damage from inception to settlement/trial across a range of industry sectors with a focus on sports, particularly the equestrian sector.
  • Ad hoc medical negligence & indemnity matters as & when required.
  • Advisory work – including policy response & complex coverage advice.
  • The defence of complex & high-value claims involving instructing experts and external Counsel.
  • Arbitration, settlement conferences & mediations.
The candidate will possess the following skills:
  • A minimum of 5-8 years PAE gained within a top-tier, mid-tier or specialist defendant insurance law firm;
  • Prior experience or interest in the sports, & recreation sector.
  • Ability to autonomously manage & run a busy caseload of complex/high-value general liability files;
  • Strategic-thinker with an outcomes focused approach.
  • A keen interest in marketing & business development as well as the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • An excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication style; and
  • The ability & desire to manage and supervise junior lawyers/graduates/paralegals within the group.
