The Systems/Technical Engineer will lead complex activities and tasks relating to one of our client project’s requirements development, system definition, design and development, integration, verification and validation. This role will plan, organise, integrate and deliver complex systems engineering services and products, whilst working cohesively and flexibly with the broader project team, key business partners and stakeholder groups.        
                                                                                                                                                                                   
Skills and Knowledge:
  1. Good knowledge of Systems Engineering principles and processes.
  2. Knowledge of information systems security principles, practices and technologies.
  3. Knowledge of IT Service Management, Project Management and IT security.
  4. A good understanding of the Information Security Manual
 
Major Responsibilities:
  1. Provide technical advice and guidance to the our client’s Project Director and Project Managers on the large complex government department specific ICT requirements.
  2. Develop Systems and Implement Engineering documentation including, Systems Engineering Management Plans, Configuration Management Plans, Test & Evaluation Master Plans and System Designs.
  3. Undertake business analysis activities with a diverse customer set to identify business needs, including conducting surveys, interviews and structured workshops.
  4. Analyse business needs to produce systems requirements, synthesise requirements to produce designs, conduct and evaluate trade-offs between various designs and requirements.
Location and Contract Term: The role is based in Canberra. 12 or 24 months from commencement date.
SFIA security level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 5.
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered.
