About the role:
The Director Property Services leads and manages the delivery of Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) property infrastructure and maintenance programs. Specifically, this incorporates the oversight and provision of strategic and tactical advice on planning; service design and capital program management to ensure the organisation is strategically placed to meet its current and future facility and property requirements. In this role you will lead a diverse team of professionals in a dynamic emergency services environment. The role is based at FRNSW Head Office in Greenacre, with hybrid work from home, and work from Government Hub arrangements available.
About you:
You are an experienced leader, with the vision, capability and resilience to motivate a team to deliver outstanding property services across a large and complex portfolio while navigating challenging stakeholder environments with integrity. Through your experience at a senior level, preferably within the public sector or comparable complex organisation, you will offer:
Considerable experience in strategic facilities planning and the delivery of property infrastructure and maintenance programs
Knowledge of relevant statutory frameworks and legislation combined with knowledge of property asset management including commercial leases, licenses and government policies
Experience in the management and development of property related services and knowledge of property practices and standards, regulations and industry trends
Experience in property capital planning, the evaluation of designs, construction and planning processes for facilities development including new builds and major renovations/ modifications
Demonstrated expertise in strategic financial management, with a deep understanding of financial budget controls and frameworks. Proven ability to navigate and implement complex financial strategies to support organisational goals
You excel at stakeholder management across complex multi-party environments, bringing strong negotiation skills and the ability to build consensus while maintaining clear boundaries and organizational objectives. Your strategic mindset, combined with operational flexibility and principled decision-making, enables you to navigate competing interests and deliver solutions that serve the broader public interest.
Essential Requirements:
