Opportunity to join a well-known Australian bank in a newly created role. We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with hands on experience in Machine Learning or AI to join an elite team that are driving innovation with cutting edge Data Science & ML Projects.  
 
The Role:
  • You will be responsible for translating business needs to technical specifications.
  • Designing, building and deploying cloud-based data platforms and providing access to large datasets
  • Managing data pipelines using Big Data tools and frameworks
  • Ability to integrate heterogeneous data from multiple sources for further analysis and use your understanding of batch, streaming and interactive data architectures and technologies
  • Develop jobs and flows ensuring that all procedures adhere to organisational best practises
  • Tune workflows based on database and cloud-based infrastructure during development and prototyping
  • Collaborate with data scientists to optimize workflows and algorithms
 
About You
  • Degree in Computer Science / Engineering or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of work or educational experience in ML or AI
  • Experience with one or more programming languages including but not limited to Java, C/C++, Python, R, SQL
  • Experience with Big Data tools, architecture and frameworks
  • Understanding of batch, streaming and interactive data architectures and technologies
  • Cloud experience (Azure / AWS)
  • Designing and implementing data pipelines for ML models
  • Productionising analytics and/or Machine learning models
