IMMEDIATE - Head of AI Engineering  - 12 months - AUD 1500 ex super - NSW Govt AI Project
Location                     :   Redfern NSW
Initial contract             :   12 months
Working                     :   Hybrid ( 2-3 days in office )
 
MUST HAVE  : AI Strategy / AI/ML implementation background, MLOps  / infrastructure-as-code, containerization, cloud-native architectures / Python frameworks
 
Primary Skills :-
- Partner with CIO to define and execute departmental data, digital, and AI strategy
- Provide thought leadership on emerging technologies and their educational applications
- 10+ years progressive technology leadership, 5+ years in senior executive roles
- Proven track record building and scaling technical organizations (20+ engineers)
- Deep hands-on software engineering experience across mainly python frameworks
- Expert-level cloud platform knowledge (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP valuable)
- Extensive data architecture experience: data lakes, streaming analytics, modern data stack
- Strong AI/ML implementation background, MLOps, and responsible AI practices
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code, containerization, cloud-native architectures
