Senior Java Engineer - Open API, Digital Banking & Microservices

Max Nash here from Ethos BeathChapman reaching out with a retained piece of work for a leading Banking, Risk & Financial Services business in the Sydney CBD. This role is a Senior Java Engineering specialist with expertise in distributed systems, microservices led architecture and non relational database builds using Java 8 and Springboot.

Few bits and pieces, we're talking Cassandra and MongoDB with Amazon RDS, Openshift and Kubernetes run Docker environments all built in Restful services inside Springboot!

Obviously high level JVM experience is required here - with accomodations made for strong Scala/Akka background candidates as well depending on the environment.

Key Technologies in play:
  • Java 8+
  • Springboot a MUST - With Microservices oriented architecture patterns
  • Multi-database systems - Mongo, Cassandra or Neo4j
  • Restful Web Service design - this is a highly complicated platform so API design and configuration from scratch is very important
  • Retail, Digital or Open Banking experience highly regarded
Nice To Have!
  • AWS Experience, we run Elastic Search into RDS on some DevOps heavy streams
  • Kafka - not currently in use for Events however being POC'd at the moment
  • Experience with both Online and Mobile Banking is HIGHLY regarded however any banking platforms will be strongly considered
This is a 12 Month Daily Rate Contract with very competitive market rates, long term prospects and very likely to continue extension year on year as part of a large transformation project.

This is direct with the Banking client themselves and as such will prefer people who have also been direct with previous Finance institutions
