Due to the cross-functional nature of the position, the Head of Product will work closely with the product development team as well as the business development team, so they will need to be able to understand and feedback customers requirements, as well as to have a strong understanding of the product. As well as overseeing the product, the Head of Product will also have responsibility for the Product Development team and overseeing their daily activities.
 
Responsibilities

• Mentoring and supporting the Product Development team
• Working with other department heads to align and execute the strategy and company vision
• Overseeing the implementation, development and management of the company’s product roadmap
• Specifying requirements for current and future products, working with both internal team and customers to define and refine product requirements
• Analysis of the product as well as the market
• Responsible for defining and prioritizing the backlog
• Maintaining industry and product knowledge, and keeping up-to-date with market trends

 
Minimum Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
• At least five years of experience managing an international team
• Experience working in a SaaS environment
• Experience in a product management environment
• Self-motivated and professional
• Working proficiency and communication skills in spoken and written English

 
Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to speak and write in Japanese fluently
• Knowledge of the Space and/or Satellite industry
• Experience working in a start-up environment
