Apply: GST Tax Manager

Working closely with the Head of Indirect Taxes and the GST Assurance Manager you will be responsible for managing all GST issues, costs and risks across the business.  Key deliverables will include:

Advisory

• Advising stakeholders on GST matters relating to pricing, contract terms, M&A activity, cross-border transactions and compliance.
• Liaising with other tax team members to deliver co-ordinated tax advice.
• Liaising with external advisors where required
• Advising on and managing internal stakeholders regarding emerging industry, organisational and legal/regulatory issues which may give rise to GST risk/pricing impact.
• Managing external stakeholders including the ATO and external service providers.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Identifying and managing GST risk issues across the business
• Working closely with the GST Assurance Manager to develop on-going assurance programs
• Discussions with external stakeholders (eg. ATO) regarding GST risks and the disclosures that may need to be made
• Working closely with Risk and Governance teams to implement best practice in GST risk management and governance. 
• Initiating and driving efforts to streamline and improve GST processes and tools.
• Raise awareness of GST issues, risks and opportunities across the business.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in GST technical roles with a strong technical understanding of Australian GST law and ATO practice.  Financial Services sector experience whilst desirable, is not essential.  You will possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to discuss tax technical matters in plain language. You will demonstrate a sound understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly in respect of GST accounting and you will have an enquiring mind with the ability to deal with complexity and ambiguity.
