Join a leading and global insurance company in their underwriting department. You will be part of the Personal Lines team and conduct underwriting across a broad range of consumer products from home and contents, to handset devices , auto excess. You will work closely with your distribution teams in the creation and launch of new products to market, as well as manage the existing portfolio of business. We are looking for underwriters with attention to detail, product knowledge and strong analytical skills to contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the department. Key Responsibilities:

Underwriting

• Creation of new insurance product, including policy wording, pricing, policy schedules etc.
• You will work closely with the Regional Team to provide pricing and quotes for new and existing insurance product across multiple distribution channels
• Once the insurance product is created and signed off, you will be responsible for inputting established underwriting rules into the systems 
• Sign off business rules and online customer journeys to ensure Underwriting intent is followed.
• Competitive scans and product / benefit creation for existing products and partners.
• Maintain close rapport and relationship with internal stakeholders 
• Provide guidance, advice and support to Operational and Customer Service Teams in understanding underwriting intent.
• Assist in preparing submissions for Regional and Global review, including competitor analysis, claims and loss ratio performance, recommendations for product and pricing.
• Production of policies, endorsements, certificates, renewal notices, and other administrative requirements.

Portfolio Management

• Demonstrate sound & strict sales management discipline over your portfolio through a planned & focused business review program/goal setting on various sales distribution channel
• Proficient with numbers through tracking & measuring of production and claims to analyze sales results and extrapolate current performance to new business.
• Support new business processes, review new risk submission and renewals within assigned authority limits.

Key Experience and Skills we require:

• Minimum Diploma or Degree in any field
• Demonstrated underwriting ability and technical competence as evidenced by a minimum of 5 years’ underwriting experience or equivalent industry experience.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
• Analytical skills and ability to evaluate and judge underwriting risks within designated authority.
• Effective communication & interpersonal skills.
• To be self-motivating with a drive for self-improvement and progression
• Able to travel within distribution channel areas in responsible as needed
• Relevant Insurance qualifications (BCP, PGI, CGI)
