Ascential Events Ltd is a global events company formed of 3 businesses – Exhibitions, Money20/20 and Cannes Lions. Reporting to the Ascential Events Exhibitions Financial Director, this role is to cover the maternity leave of the Head of Procurement at Ascential Events for the Exhibitions and Money20/20 business divisions.
The post holder will be responsible for the execution of all Procurement projects for the Exhibition and Money20/20 business divisions within Ascential Events, providing support to internal clients of all levels of seniority. Working as the primary input from Procurement in the 2 business divisions, the main purpose of the role will be:
 
  • Engaging with each of the business on a regular basis to deliver effective supplier management and savings
  • Excellent Negotiation skills, development of pricing options, mitigating contractual risk and the ability to deliver savings whilst ensuring service remains at required levels
  • Confidence in dealing with contracts and negotiating key commercial terms (IP, Liability, SLA, service credits etc.)
Effective communication skills enabling strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers. Presenting to groups of people for the purposes of updating exec boards on supplier strategies and training lower level managers about key Procurement skills

Experience required:

  • Experience in procuring Marketing & Communications services
  • Preferably experience in procuring: Event Production (AV, stand & feature build, registration, furniture, event staffing, security)
  • Hotel agreements for staff and delegates
  • Venues
  • Procurement experience with sourcing and negotiating with international suppliers
  • Ideally experienced in negotiating commission deals with suppliers that return revenue back to the business.
  • CIPS qualifications would be useful but not a necessity
  • Ability to lead contract negotiations, managing legal discussions on key terms
  • Need to have worked in fast changing environments and be used to change
  • Must be able to influence and hold the confidence of the Exec team
  • Experienced self starter who is used to working autonomously
