This organisation is a household name across Australia and are currently undergoing a large scale cloud transformation. As part of this transformation they are looking to grow the team and add a Principal Automation Tech Lead. The Principal Technical Lead function plays an important role in the development and maintenance of technical solutions on the hybrid cloud and ensures that the detailed design and operations are fit for purpose. 

The role

As a Principal Automation Tech Lead, you will: 
  • Lead the build, deployment, and operations of automated cloud enabled application environments, patterns, tools, and platforms 
  • Set direction and oversight for the consistent use and implementation of tools, standards, methods and processes
  • Provide subject matter expertise and advice regarding cloud life cycle management, contribute to end-to-end incident recovery, problem resolution, and service continuity management 
  • Be accountable for detailed service designs and technical specifications across patterns and the platform 
Experience Required

As a Principal Automation Tech Lead, you will have: 
  • Experience of working with multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMWare, etc) 
  • Knowledge in one or more automation and orchestration products/platforms (Chef, Puppet, Terraform, CloudFormation, etc) 
  • Development experience in one or more scripting languages (vRA, Terraform, Bash/Shell, Ruby, Python, etc) 
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and supporting technology
