Hours: 38 per week, Monday to Friday (8:30am–5:00pm)

Position Objective
  • Manage and deliver minor capital works projects across Council’s built infrastructure
  • Oversee building renewals, refurbishments, upgrades and cyclic maintenance programs
  • Provide facility management expertise to support policy and procedure development and implementation
  • Monitor project delivery, contractor performance and budget expenditure

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects in line with Council’s Project Management Framework
  • Prepare scopes, specifications and contract documentation
  • Procure and oversee trade and service contractors
  • Supervise on-site works and ensure compliance with OHS and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor budgets and report on progress against targets
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of project systems, policies and procedures
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to minimise disruption to operational facilities

Skills and Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of building construction, maintenance and asset management principles
  • Knowledge of Victorian Building Regulations, NCC and relevant standards
  • Experience managing contractors and outsourced services
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work both independently and within a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications and Experience
  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Building Construction, Engineering or related field
    or substantial relevant industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience delivering minor capital works and maintenance projects
  • Experience in budget management and procurement
  • Experience developing or implementing policy and procedures
  • Current Victorian Driver Licence
