Global insurance and reinsurance firm is seeking a highly motivated 4-8 PAE General Insurance top-end Associate or Senior Associate with broad expertise across general insurance & coverage to work closely with a new Partner in Melbourne as part of a national practice.
 
Working closely with the Sydney team, you will have the opportunity to undertake cutting edge work with a variety of local & London-based insurers, whilst being the 2IC to a new Partner as the practice grows. You will be involved in: 

• Leading professional indemnity, D&O & financial lines matters on behalf of a number of professionals with a focus on construction;
• Drafting complex coverage advice & advising on risk – some of which will be multi-jurisdictional.
• Acting on multi-million dollar insurance litigation across the APAC region; as well as
• Handling management liability & defamation files as the practice grows.

The candidate will possess the following skills:

• A minimum of 4-8 years PAE gained within a top-tier, national or well-regarded defendant firm;
• Expertise in general insurance work including exposure to professional indemnity (particularly construction/engineering), financial lines and/ or D&O work as a minimum.
• Client-facing with a keen interest in business development & marketing events.
• Excellent technically with strong commercial acumen.
• Managerial capabilities to supervise more junior lawyers/paralegals.
