The Company

Ethos is proud to be partnered with one of Australia's leading specialty Insurers in the recruitment of a competent and experienced Liability Underwriter to manage a portfolio of clients within the "Trades to Construction" space. Our client is going through a significant phase of growth across Australia, and with over 80 staff across 6 offices nationally is poised to have a breakout 2025 where they truly cement their place as the market leader amongst their competitors. Based in the Melbourne CBD, this role offers extreme levels of autonomy and flexibility, with the expectation to only be in the office 1 day per week for collaboration. It's this flexibility that we feel is a true reflection of the culture, choosing to walk the walk when it comes to autonomy and offer their team a level of trust that seems to be being more and more hard to find in this post-covid market.

The Role

Reporting into the Underwriting Manager, you'll have responsibility for managing and underwriting the more "complex" liability risks within the portfolio, with any policies in excess of $40k being your responsibility. The portfolio specialises in trades to construction, and has a national scope so you'll manage key broker relationships all over the country, and collaborate internally with other internal divisions where appropriate. 

About You

You'll have extensive experience within Liability, with competency across more complex risk profiles and the ability to work autonomously. Given the predominantly remote nature of the role you'll be expected to be able to work comfortably with autonomy and operate as a self starter/initiative taker where you may not be sitting next to your colleagues everyday.
